Is koekjesmeel passé?

Is biscuit flour passé?

Biscuit flour. It has been a staple in kitchen cupboards for generations and all too often ends up in our little ones’ fruit purée. “For the taste,” “to make it more filling,” or simply... out of habit. But is cookie flour still such an obvious choice today? Or can we gradually say: cookie flour is passé?

Cookie flour: what is actually in it?

Cookie flour is often seen as a harmless addition, but if you really look at the label, you usually see refined grains, added sugars and often allergens such as gluten or milk.

That doesn’t necessarily make cookie flour “bad,” but it does make it... limited. It mainly adds calories, with little real nutritional value.

Billiebubs: more than just a filler

At Billiebubs, we consciously chose oatmeal with real fruit, without added sugars. And you can feel - and taste - the difference.

No added sugars
Only the natural sugars from the fruit. This helps your little one discover flavours as they really are.

More nutritional value
Oatmeal is naturally full of fibre and provides long-lasting energy. Combined with fruit, you get a purée that not only fills, but also nourishes.

Allergen-conscious
Fewer unnecessary ingredients, no hidden surprises. That makes Billiebubs a lovely choice, even for sensitive tummies. Gluten- and lactose-free!

Filling without being heavy
No sugar spike, no quick hunger afterwards, just a contented baby.

So... is cookie flour passé?

We dare to say it carefully: yes.
Not because it is “forbidden,” but because there are simply better alternatives today that do more for your little one. Fruit purée doesn’t need empty filler. It deserves something that grows with your baby’s needs: nutritious, pure and gentle on little tummies.

And if it tastes good too?
Then it’s clear to us. 😉
